Girls Camp 2013 Wrap up

Our camp was scheduled to be June 18-21st - but we got a call on June 11th from the camp asking where we were!!
They were expecting us that day (a week early) - WHAT?!
So we all rallied and got most of our girls to camp with only 6 hours notice!!  I love our leaders!
Our theme was "Oh, the Places You'll Go!"  These are the goodies bags everyone got when they registered.  It had their name lanyard, the schedule, their Secret Sister name, the camp song lyrics, a lollipop treat and a theme-inspired print out.
They also got their "Value Pills" (Skittles)
A couple of the pillow treats this year
We usually give out a necklace to the girls each year according to our theme.  We got them large compasses so they can be reminded of the Places They'll Go in life
I gave my teachers these goodies for preparing wonderful classes. I put their photo on "Fox in Socks" and put it on the yummiest shea socks from B&B works
Our camp crafts this year - paint chip bookmarks. They stamped all sorts of designs on their picked out colors and then attached the Dr.Seuss quote on the back and tied their fluffy ribbon on top. We made a double braid headband - those turned out so cute. We had about 7 different fabrics all ripped for them to chose from.  The girls also make this cute braided hemp twine bracelet with heart charm.

Our t-shirt this year. They printed up a little more neon than I had designed - but everyone liked them that way :)
I had made and laminated about 15 hot air balloons with all the Places You'll Go throughout life (college, mission, motherhood, Temple, marriage, workplace, etc). We hung them all up in our main room - they looked super cute.

Some of the room doors had Dr.Seuss themed characters and poster on them. We also had a cute "mailbox" envelope on each door this year for the girls to put notes in for each other.

It's kind of hard to tell how cute this hall was with all the colorful ribbons and bows tied to the posts!

We had a great camp and I'm so grateful that I had everything prepared way ahead of time since I had a week less time to prepare.  I was able to just pack up my van and get to camp with the girls!!

Marisa is 18!

It's been such a crazy busy summer! Two out of three kids are back in school. I'll be taking Marisa up to college this week - It's hard to believe! Here's just one of the many fun events from the summer - I'll eventually get them all scrapped and posted :)

Girl's Camp FUN 2012

Girl's Camp was so much fun - like always :)  What a great time spent with the Young Women of our Stake. Our theme "Spark Your Spirit" focused on inner beauty and really touched the girls. I look forward to next year - I already have the theme picked out!
My SPARK sign actually hanging at camp!
I had pinwheels all around camp and they made it through the all-day thunderstorms!
Cute pennant banners outside the rooms
One of the BEST camp leaders - we love Dodie!!
This was skit night - the leaders putting on a skit about looking for the inner beauty in others :)
Cute first year girls at skit night
This was a super fun game that we played when it was pouring rain. The girls had to go fill a pillowcase with random things from their rooms and then had to compete doing different assignments. They had to make one girl into a super hero - they were super creative!
Then they had to make one of their group members into Pikachu - I thought this was very creative with all their yellow items!
The lake is the most fun part of camp - the BLOB is awesome!
Love the huge aqua slide and water trampoline

The girls weaving their paper covers for their journal craft
 Making cute finger weaving bracelet/anklets
Girls in a Bollywood Dance class
Zip line after making their way through a high ropes course - BRAVE!
My cute YCL's leading the girls in some fun! I love how their t-shirts turned out
CRAZY HAIR show - this was amazing :)  Even super shy girls took part and had so much fun :)
One of our adult leaders - awesome triple spiked hair!
The girls got really creative - using cups under the hair as foundations
The striped shea socks that I had packaged for my core leaders - so comfy :)
The ending night after testimony meeting. We had long sparklers for all the girls and had five leaders spelling out SPARK with theirs. I LOVE this picture!

Summer Trip 2011

We did the killer four days at Disney - a different park a day! I would never recommend doing it that way unless you love Disney - which I do. I guess attending high school in Florida and then living in So. California ignited some kind of Disney obsession in me ;)  We had a ton of fun even though it's always hot and humid - not as bad as we live with daily here in Texas though.
Ryan with the Test Track car at EPCOT
Monkeying around in the Toy Story ride!
The New York City Subway??!!  Just a movie set at Hollywood Studios
My Disney expert friend, Nicole, recommended taking this drawing class at Hollywood Studios. We loved it so much that we did it twice - learned to draw Pooh Bear and then Woody from Toy Story. Don't you love the cute desks? Disney details - they're awesome!
Tess trying on a Yeti wig after the Everest Roller Coaster at Animal Kingdom - our favorite ride of all the parks (at least us girls - the boys loved Rockin' Roller Coaster)
Toy Story ride - really cute and clever - we were rockin' the 3-D glasses :)
Jose and kids on Main Street in the Magic Kingdom -
We heart Disney!!
After our Disney marathon, we went to visit my Dad in Sarasota. He lives near to Siesta Beach (voted #1 in the US this year) so we went everyday. Jose let Marisa and Ryan go parasailing one day - that would seriously give me a stroke! I don't know how they braved something like that?! 1,200 feet in the air - yikes!

The crew would bring them down and dunk them a few times - they loved it!
 View from the air
They had about 10 dolphins playing around their boat
Marisa, Jose and Grandpa playing in the water
Tess and Ryan taking off on the boogie boards - they loved the clear warm water. It was nice because we didn't have to keep an eye out for jellyfish like when we go to Destin's beaches. It was a great trip!!
